How has social software enable us to work in groups?

Social Software is computer software that enables users to interact and share data. For example social media, are types of social software. I would say social software can be compared to UGC (user generated content) because one type of software is put out and there’s a chance for everyone who uses this software to have there own input and contribution. Never the less, one thing about social software I feel that is good, is that it can bring people together and make them come up with great concepts or ideas. Or can even be as simple as setting up a rally or a strike. It allows people to interact for all parts of the world where your connection will take you.

One negative with social software is if there is an age cut off than younger people could lie about their age and be exposed to inappropriate
content or to harmful people on these websites who could take advantage of their innocence.

Another issue with social software is just privacy. And this isn’t with every form of social software, just ones like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram because people post about everything on their profiles and some profiles you must use your real information such as name and date of birth. You can also put interests and things about you, but is this necessarily a good thing? Privacy is much needed because you never know if someone is trying to find out your moves, location and your regular agenda which people often post online to hurt you. Although it may seem private it’s more public than you think.
